When I first began this journey of creating my own clothing line 3 years ago, I thought my vision and hard work would be enough. I had that down pat. Enough to get a label off the ground, make an impact, and thanks to a little bit of business sense - make money. Enough to be a success. Oh, how little I really knew about this closed door industry.Fast forward 3 years and I have yet to launch -- although it's right around the corner! I've had several mini successes of my own - opening a business bank account, building a website, designing a logo and business cards, creating every piece of marketing material on my little MacBook Air, and most importantly finalizing samples for the entire first collection right down to the tiny details.
And while I am still slowly piecing these elements together - learning 100 new things every day, battling set backs and rejoicing in the small steps forward - the amount I have learned about myself in this journey has been tremendous. A quick yet overwhelmingly deserved thank you is in order to all the people who have and continue to help me along the way. You know who you are - those who have helped me navigate this seemingly unnavigable road. My husband, a silent yet equal partner. An even bigger thanks to those of you who knowingly screwed me. Yep, that's right. Thank you.
